EU Projects
Ballymun Job Centre has been involved with European funded projects for approximately fifteen years. During that time funding has been accessed through a number of channels including the European Social Fund, Leonardo da Vinci II - Community Vocational Training Action Programme (2000 to 2006), Grundtvig (Socrates), The Community Action Programme to Combat Social Exclusion 2002 to 2006 and YouthStart.
Leonardo Da Vinci II Programme
The Leonardo da Vinci II Programme is defined by the Irish National Agency as the European Community's Action Programme for the implementation of a Vocational Training Policy. Leonardo da Vinci uses transnational cooperation to improve quality, foster innovation and promote the European dimension of vocational training systems and practices. It aims to develop a European area of co-operation, supporting and supplementing Member States' policies on life-long learning, while fully respecting their responsibility for the content and organisation of vocational training. EQUAL
The EQUAL programme is one of four pillars of funding from the EU which is co-funded through the European Social Fund (ESF). The programme runs from 2001 to 2007 and projects funded under this initiative aim to develop new and innovative policies and practices, which will address discrimination and inequality within the labour market. The Ballymun Job Centre is currently involved in 2 Equal projects one of which we are the managing agency-Equal Youth.
